Astroworld victim identified as Washington college student

The unidentified man who was among eight people killed at Travis Scott’s doomed Astroworld concert was a 21-year-old Washington college student, his grieving family said Sunday.

Authorities had released a photo of the man, Axel Acosta, earlier in hopes of getting an ID.

Axel Acosta was one of several people killed in the deadly wave of people during a Travis Scott performance on November 5, 2021.

Acosta, a computer-science student at Western Washington State, had traveled alone to the ill-fated show, his family told KTRK-TV on Sunday.

“It was his first time going to an event like that,” his aunt, Cynthia Acosta, told the station.

Acosta was among those killed in the deadly crush of concertgoers at the Friday night concert, according to police.
