California man rescues kitten from floodwaters

A California man waded into rushing floodwaters to save a kitten that was drowning, and the rescue was caught on camera.

Skip Campbell and his wife Nancy went for a walk near their Sacramento home Sunday, when they heard the kitty struggling after heavy rains from a “bomb cyclone” storm drenched the state, according to KTXL.

“My wife had heard a faint noise,” Skip told the outlet. He reportedly “looked over and saw a little head bobbing up,” and then ventured into waist-high waters to free the feline, footage showed.

“I was just real careful because it does drop off about three feet away from where I’m at,” Skip told the station, adding that the kitten is “really pretty” with “beautiful green eyes.”

The Campbells, who have rescued cats before, reportedly brought the kitten home to dry out. They had not decided if they would keep it, but told KCRA that several neighbors have already expressed interest in adopting the animal.
