Herschel Walker’s son Christian slammed his father and the Republican Party in a blistering Twitter screed after the former Heisman Trophy winner lost his bid to unseat Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock in Tuesday’s runoff election in Georgia.
Christian Walker, who had been outspoken about his estranged father during the campaign, laid bare his feelings in a series of postings that began shortly after news outlets called the election for Warnock.
“Don’t beat women, hold guns to peoples heads, fund abortions then pretend your [sic] pro-life, stalk cheerleaders, leave your multiple minor children alone to chase more fame, lie, lie, lie, say stupid crap, and make a fool of your family,” Christian Walker, 23, said, repeating a litany of allegations against his father.
”And then maybe you can win a senate seat,” the younger Walker added.
The elder Walker, 60, a former star running back for the University of Georgia, lost to Warnock by 51.4% to 48.6% in the hotly contested race that was marked by a flurry of allegations against the Republican candidate.
Those claims included that Walker paid for abortions despite being publicly pro-life, fathering three secret children with three different women, and instances of violent behavior.
In June, Walker confirmed that in addition to Christian, he had two other sons and a daughter that had not been publicly disclosed.
Christian’s mother, Cindy DeAngelis Grossman, aired domestic violence allegations against the onetime NFL star in an ad that ran during the campaign, recalling how at one point he threatened to “blow my brains out.”
Her comments were culled from an interview she gave ABC in 2008.
Christian Walker hailed his mother in the tweets, posting a photo of her.
“This is my amazing mom who’s had her name and image dragged through the media unwillingly. She refused to talk to any journalist after 18 months of stalking. I blew up after she was lied on multiple times,” Christian Walker wrote.
”Shoutout to every strong mother whose story goes untold. We love you,” he added.
Christian, a conservative influencer on social media with thousands of followers on Instagram and TikTok, also called out Republicans, accusing the party of playing “identity politics” by running his African-American dad against a black opponent.
“Republicans, we say we don’t play ‘identity politics’ and then you ran this man mainly because he was the same skin color as his opponent with no background other than football. A boring old Republican could have won,” he said.
The son also said former President Donald Trump was the main impetus for his father’s Senate run.
”The Truth: Trump called my dad for months DEMANDING that he run. Everyone with a brain begged him: ’PLEASE DON’T DO THIS. This is too dirty, you have an insane past… PLEASE DONT DO THIS,” Christian said in another posting.
“We got the middle finger. He ran.”
Christian Walker also addressed criticism leveled against him when he spoke out about his famous father during the campaign.
”I was called a backstabber after getting angry and blowing up from watching my dad lie for 18 months straight… But he’s not a backstabber for leaving his 2 minor children he kept secret to grow up without a dad as he chases more fame and power?” he asked. “Pathetic. Raise your kids.”
