Bayview 60 Homes on 3800 Northeast 168th Street in Florida was evacuated after the owner called for the city to take action following an inspection done on the building.
The owner hired Bronislaus P. Taurinski Structural Engineers for the inspection, and a report came back citing a deflection in the elevation of the “building’s floor slabs.”
Residents were told on Monday they had to leave the apartment but would be able to return on Tuesday morning for their belongings.
The move follows another North Miami apartment building called Crestview Towers that evacuated its residents. A report showed the building was also structurally damaged.
Bayview sits just three miles north from the Surfside condo tower that partially collapsed on June 24, 2021.
It was a tragic incident killed 98 people when inspections discovered the building was destabilized and in many violations for living situations.
