Florida cops trying to ID victim with heart tattoo

Florida cops are trying to identify a victim by a distinct tattoo on their leg after multiple body parts washed up late last week.

Police released a photo of the tattoo located on the victim’s calf after the leg was spotted by a fisherman in Tampa Bay on Nov. 11.

The tattoo features three hearts with the names Sean, Greg and Zach inked across them.

A day after the tattooed body part was found, cops said another fisherman reported seeing other body parts in the same area.

Police haven’t confirmed if the body parts belong to the same victim.

“I saw what looked like a lump of dead fish at first, but as it floated closer to me it started to resolve into what looks like the lower half of a human leg,” fisherman Stuart Welch, who came across the second body part, told WRBL.

The police in Tampa were called to investigate reports of body parts being found. according to an officer, one of the parts had a heart-shaped tattoo on it.

Welch said he was “very confident” it was a body part, adding it was about 15 feet away from him when he first spotted it.

“It doesn’t surprise me that some monster dumped a human body out here, probably cut ’em up and dumped the parts wherever they could,” Welch said.

Police said they were using drones and watercraft to search the surrounding area for other body parts.

A spokesperson for the Tampa Police Department confirmed “additional body parts” were found at McKay Bay, near the 22nd Street Causeway Bridge.

The medical examiner is currently working on a cause of death and investigators are trawling through missing person reports to try and match the tattoo.
