Florida law enforcement officials rescued eleven people from a capsized boat off Tampa Bay’s Beer Can Island on Sunday.
Hillsborough Sheriff’s Marine Unit arrived through air and sea to discover the boaters which consisted of men, women, and children swimming around the overturned boat.
“Almost all the victims were wearing life preservers,” Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister said in the press release.
A group of good samaritans noticed the sinking boat and “arrived immediately” to rescue people from the water.
Two boaters, however, were spotted hanging onto the boat.
Bodycam footage captured two men clutching onto the yellow rope to reach the police vessel.
“Bring me up, bring me up,” one of the stranded boaters yelled to officers.
Both were rescued, but one complained of chest pains and shortness of breath.
The victim was transferred as a medical emergency to a local hospital, according to officials.
