John Walsh received 'multiple' Brian Laundrie tips

Former “America’s Most Wanted” host John Walsh says his hotline has blown up with multiple tips about Brian Laundrie’s whereabouts as the FBI continued to trawl a 25,000-acre Florida reserve in search of him.

Walsh told Fox News on Wednesday he believes the public will be the ones to locate Gabby Petito’s boyfriend based on the famed citizen crimefighter’s experience of locating missing persons.

“We did get multiple tips yesterday, our hotline blew up because it’s the people that will find this guy,” Walsh said.

“I tell people you can text me, you can call me. I don’t trace, I don’t tap the phone. I know people don’t want to call cops because they think they’ll get dragged into it.

“I don’t care if you’re legal, illegal, where you are, just text me or call me. And that’s how I’ve caught all these people because the public is my supporters.”

The FBI has spent the past week scouring the Carlton Reserve for Laundrie after his parents reported him missing Sept. 17 — three days after he told them he was going on a hike there.

Laundrie vanished last week after arriving home alone in Florida from a cross-country trip with Petito on Sept. 1. He quickly hired a lawyer and refused to cooperate with police.

Petito’s body was found Sunday at the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming, and the case has since been declared a homicide.

Walsh has previously questioned whether Laundrie was hiding out in his parents’ home prior to going missing, telling CNN there was no proof he was actually there.

“All this time, the FBI and the North Port police have been going on the word” of Laundrie’s parents and their lawyer “that he’s in the house,” Walsh said.

He suggested the reports of Laundrie going missing in Carlton Reserve were a “red herring” and a “ruse.”

Laundrie is a person of interest in Petito’s death in Wyoming, but authorities have not charged anyone in the case.
