Justin Trudeau hit by gravel from COVID vaccine protesters at campaign stop

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was hit with gravel by angry anti-vaccine protesters at a campaign stop on Monday, according to reports.

While seemingly alarmed, the Liberal Party leader was unharmed after he was hit the pebbles while boarding a bus in London, Ont., CBC reported.

The projectiles came from an angry crowd of demonstrators opposed to the COVID-19 vaccine and other pandemic restrictions, according to The Washington Post.

About 100 chanting protesters were at the event in a scene that has become common at Trudeau’s campaign stops, The London Free Press reported.

Some of the gravel may have also hit some members of the media covering the event.

Trudea’s main rival, Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole, spoke out against the incident in a Twitter statement.

“This is disgusting and I condemn these actions in the strongest terms possible,” wrote O’Toole.

“Political violence is never justified and our media must be free from intimidation, harassment, and violence,” he said.
