The first day of the 118th Congress turned into the first day of high school this month when Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) got into a bathroom shouting match over a certain man, according to a new report.

Long viewed as far-right allies, the relationship between the two fractured over Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) campaign to become House speaker. Greene was a vocal supporter of the California Republican, while Boebert stood in steadfast opposition.

Matters came to a head on Jan. 3, when the two confronted each other in a ladies room just off the House floor, according to The Daily Beast.

Greene questioned Boebert’s loyalty to McCarthy, and after a few words were exchanged, Boebert stormed out,” the outlet quoted a source familiar with the fight.

A second source said Greene stormed out of a stall and asked Boebert, “You were OK taking millions of dollars from McCarthy but you refuse to vote for him for Speaker, Lauren?”

“Don’t be ugly,” the initial source recalled Boebert saying to Greene before the Coloradoan “ran out like a little schoolgirl.”

Despite Greene’s claim, campaign finance records show Boebert did not take any money from McCarthy’s political action committee — The Majority Committee — during the 2022 election cycle.

Boebert voted against McCarthy the first 13 times her name was called to cast a ballot for the House speakership. She switched her vote to “present” on the 14th and 15th ballots, passively ensuring McCarthy won the gavel.

Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.), who reportedly witnessed the bathroom drama, refused to dish on details, instead offering a lesson.

“What happens in the ladies room stays in the ladies room,” Dingell told the Daily Beast.
