‘No records’ of pro-Antifa teacher being reported: superintendent

No records have been found of any previous reports against a California teacher who is currently facing termination after being seen on video boasting about turning his students into “revolutionaries,” per the superintendent presiding over the firing.

Through the investigation of the teacher so far, Natomas Unified School District Superintendent Chris Evans told Fox News that the district has been unable to uncover previous reports from parents or students regarding the teacher.

“We’ve heard…a student or parent reached out to the school in the district and tried to share these concerns, but we have no such records of that,” he said. “So if somebody has a copy of an email or something that’s time stamped and dated, I want to see that.”

The teacher in question, Gabriel Gipe, was seen in a video captured by Project Veritas, explaining how he pushes his political ideologies on his students — adding that his goal is to “turn [students] into revolutionaries.”

“I have an Antifa flag on my [classroom] wall and a student complained about that — he said it made him feel uncomfortable. Well, this [Antifa flag] is meant to make fascists feel uncomfortable, so if you feel uncomfortable, I don’t really know what to tell you. Maybe you shouldn’t be aligning with the values that this [Antifa flag] is antithetical to,” Gipe told an interviewer from the group in apparent hidden-camera footage.

California teacher Gabriel Gipe was caught on video saying he encouraged students to show up to protests and rallies.
“I have an Antifa flag on my [classroom] wall,” Gabriel Gipe boasted.

“I have 180 days to turn [students] into revolutionaries,” he said — adding that the way to combat teenage apathy is to “Scare the f–k out of them.”

Gipe, who teaches advanced placement government at Inderkum High School in Sacramento, was reportedly investigated by Project Veritas after a whistleblower brought concerns to the group about a Mao poster and other left-wing propaganda, Fox News reported.

Gipe has since come under fire for his abuse of power and is facing termination from his position, per a Wednesday statement from the district.

Since the video was released, the district has asked any parent or student who previously reported the teacher to come forward, as well as report any additional complaints.

“I wish someone would have spoken up about this earlier, and/or if they did, we need to apologize and find out how we fix that,” Evans said.

The district’s investigation has found evidence of professional conduct violations back to 2018. Evans said some of the violations were very subtle, avoiding suspicion. The district has found enough evidence to warrant firing Gipe.

“It’s a free country, and people have a right outside of their professional lives to support whatever side they want,” the superintendent said. “You just can’t bring it into the classroom, and he did.”

District officials interviewed Gipe on Monday, where he was open about his beliefs, Evans said. During the discussion, the teacher reportedly claimed there are three other teachers in his department that “are definitely, like, on the same page.”

During a Wednesday school board meeting, parents and residents of the community slammed the district, saying it “failed.”

“The school district has failed in my opinion…” said Luis Ortega, a resident of the district whose son recently graduated from Inderkum High School. “Because you allowed this indoctrination of Mr. Gabriel Gipe and his political ideology to flirt in his classroom. You have an opportunity to correct this. Everything has been brought to light and like everyone is saying, it doesn’t end with Mr. Gabriel Gipe. There are some deep-rooted issues within the district.”

“He was indoctrinating these kids every single day. He was abusing them, scaring them every single day,” said another resident of the community, only identified as Christopher.

“Where the hell was the principal? Where were the vice-principals? Where was the faculty of the school? Where was it superintendent, where was the rest of the district? Where were you?”

“You guys will be held accountable. This is because of you,” he added. “Okay? Gabriel Gipe is a symptom, not the sickness. The sickness is in the district.”

District teachers, administrators and students have also been subject to threats from across the country, Evans said, later reading one that came from Indiana.

“We will go to your homes and make you feel as uncomfortable as our children felt in that class, you left-wing f—— cowards,” it read, in part. “All of you, and I mean every single one of you, needs to resign immediately or you will not know what peace is. We want you out of our community. We want you out of Sacramento.”
