Oklahoma woman, 80, vanishes while searching for missing son and his pal

An 80-year-old Oklahoma woman disappeared last week while searching for her missing son and his friend — who has since turned up dead.

Glenda “Cookie” Parton, was last seen in Turley, Ok., on Monday night, and her car was found abandoned the next day off US Route 75, according to the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office.

The mother was looking for her 59-year-old son, Dwayne Selby, and his 76-year-old pal, Jack Grimes, who were last heard from on Oct. 22, the sheriff’s office said.

The two friends told relatives they were going to a horse show in Fort Worth, Tx., but it’s unclear if they ever made it to the event.

On Sunday, hunters in a wooded area in Turley found human remains that were later identified as Grimes, the newspaper said.

His death has been ruled a homicide, though investigators have not revealed how he was killed.

“We currently are searching the area where Jack’s remains were found for additional victims, for we cannot rule out the possibility that Glenda and Dwayne have also met with foul play,” Sheriff Vic Regalado said at a Tuesday press conference.

Parton, her son and Grimes are all affiliated with the horse show business, the Tulsa World reported.
