Teen guardsman who participated in Queen's funeral found dead

An 18-year-old soldier who helped guard Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin during her funeral procession was found dead at his barracks in London, according to multiple reports.

Household Cavalry trooper Jack Burnell-Williams was found dead Wednesday at Hyde Park Barracks in London’s Knightsbridge section, The Telegraph reported. Authorities are not treating the death as suspicious.

Family members, including his devastated mom Laura, paid tribute to him on social media, according to multiple reports. They also shared TV footage of the Household Calvary participating in the Sept. 19 funeral, adding they were “so proud” he accompanied “the Queen on her final journey.”

“Never ever thought I would be saying this but we as a family are all heartbroken with the sudden passing of our wonderful son Jack Williams yesterday,” she posted on Facebook, according to The Sun.

The mom’s Facebook page was peppered with photos of her son performing his duties.
