Three Fort Drum soldiers died of suspected suicides in the span of three days last week, authorities announced Sunday.
The upstate New York base announced the deaths in a Sunday statement and said there was no connection between the three incidents.
Command teams gathered troops on Monday to discuss suicide prevention, according to a statement from Maj. Gen, Milford H. Beagle, Jr., commander of the 10th Mountain Division.
“In trying times like these, it is incumbent upon us all to reach out to your battle buddy. Make sure they are O.K,” Beagle said in a statement.
“To the Soldiers of Fort Drum, the 10th Mountain Division and our entire Army I want you to know every life is worth living!” the commander continued.
Officials have not released the identities of the dead soldiers.
