Trump says Taliban-seized US weapons will be given to Russia

Former President Donald Trump is warning that the massive stockpile of US weapons abandoned by the Biden administration in Afghanistan and seized by the Taliban will likely end up in the hands of Russia and China to be reverse engineered — blasting the withdrawal as “the most embarrassing event in the history of our country.”

“It’s the most incompetently handled withdrawal in history,” Trump told “Full Measure” in an interview aired Sunday.

“There’s never been anything like this, where we gave them $85 billion worth of brand new, beautiful equipment,” he said of the weapons and aircraft that the Islamic militants have repeatedly gloated about now controlling.

“And I guarantee that China and Russia already have our Apache helicopters and they’re taking them apart to find out exactly how they’re made,” he said of the seized craft.

“They’re the best in the world by far. And they’re taking them apart so they can make the exact same equipment,” he warned of the advanced US war machinery.

“They’re very good at that. It’s a disgrace,” insisted Trump in the interview with Sharyl Attkisson from his golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey.

Trump said that while he wanted to get US troops out of Afghanistan, it would have been with “honor and dignity” rather than what he called “the most embarrassing event in the history of our country.”

“We should have taken out all our equipment, everything. And I said, ‘I want every bolt. I want every screw. I want every nail. I want everything. I want those tanks,’” he said.

Trump also warned that the chaotic evacuation — which saw thousands scrambling into packed flights, even trying to cling to the outside of planes — will likely have aided terrorists getting to the US.

“You have people going all over the world and being dropped all over the world right now, and nobody knows who the hell they are,” Trump said.

“These aren’t the interpreters that we took…many of these people are going to be terrorists,” he insisted. “They were very energetic in getting onto the aircraft.”

He said the evacuation was “dropping them all over the world,” adding, “And most of them will be coming to the United States. And in that group will be many terrorists, many, many terrorists.

“We’ve done their job. The hardest thing was getting out of the country, coming in for terrorists. We’ve brought terrorists into our country, and them coming … It’s a disgrace.”

Trump insisted that he still gets intel reports “if I want” — but insisted that “you don’t need intel briefings” to see what a disaster it was.

“All you have to do is read the news or turn on the television. It’s the most incompetently handled withdrawal in history,” he said.
