Vandal sets fire to Pulse nightclub memorial

A vandal in a wheelchair was caught on camera setting fire to an Orlando memorial for the 49 victims killed in the Pulse nightclub massacre.

The organization that runs the memorial, onePulse Foundation, released the footage that was captured on Oct. 12 in a Facebook post on Saturday in an effort to identify the suspect.

The foundation urged anyone who recognizes the arsonist to contact Orlando police.

Three banners on a wall dedicated to the victims of the June 2016 mass shooting at the nighclub were destroyed in the fire, the organization said.

The wall also displays photos, messages and flowers.

Gunman Omar Mateen opened fire at the LGBTQ club on June 12, 2016 and killed nearly 50 clubgoers amid a three-hour standoff with law enforcement.

Mateen, who had claimed allegiance to an Islamic State leader, was killed by SWAT team members who responded to the shooting.
